The Sphagnum moss is a plant from the moss family and grows in swamps areas. It is a living plant in opposition to the “peat moss” which is a fossile sphagnum moss. One can find it in New Zealand, in Australia and in the south of Chile. It is especially in the island of Chiloe that one of the best qualities of sphagnum moss can be found.

It is in this island that ALPHA MOSS company is located. Harvesting is done manually in order to leave the moss grow again. About four years are necessary for a complete cycle.
